If my scanner has both TWAIN and WIA drivers, which should I use with OmniPage Pro 11 or TextBridge Pro 11?QUESTION:If my scanner has both TWAIN and WIA drivers and I am running Windows ME or Windows XP, which driver should I use with OmniPage Pro 11?ANSWER:The Microsoft Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) device driver interface is supported on Windows ME and Windows XP systems. If a WIA device driver is available for your scanner and you are using Windows ME or Windows XP, it is recommended that you scan using the WIA interface instead of installing the TWAIN driver.Use the Scanner Wizard to select your scanner driver.
Please follow these steps to open the Scanner Wizard.1.Open OmniPage Pro 11 or TextBridge Pro 11.2.Go to Tools Options Scanner.3.Click on the “Setup” button.4.Choose “Select scanning source”.5.Click on “Next”.6.The TWAIN or WIA drivers that are installed on your system will be listed in the window.7.To change the display to show either the TWAIN or WIA drivers, click on the “Other drivers” button, select the appropriate category of drivers, and then click on “OK”. If the correct category of drivers is displayed, skip this step.8.Click once on your scanner’s driver to select it.9.Click on “Next”.10.Select “Yes” to test your scanner configuration for use with OmniPage Pro 11.11.Follow the steps to run the tests on your scanner.12.Click on “Finish”.13.You have now setup your scanner to work with OmniPage Pro 11 or TextBridge Pro 11.NOTE: This information is listed in the Release Notes for OmniPage Pro 11 and TextBridge Pro 11.
