We have to leave it in hall as we loose signal taking it into living area2. The power button is the same button as the one that turns the light on in the child's room. Easy to do by accident.3. Has a feed timer. Never used it but set it going by accident a couple of times, discovered you have to let it run through 24 hours before it will disappear off the screen.4.

If power goes off (power cut etc), the parent unit beeps loudly every few seconds, which I suppose is ok until we got another (BT) monitor that reconnects when power is restored. This one doesn't. It just beeps.5.

Baby

When the parent unit is off the screen lights up on the child unit which is a particular nusiance if there is a power cut and you have to turn the device off to stop the beeping as you then light up your child's bedroom.6. This is a niggle, but it won't stand up unless on charging device.7. (I'll stop here I promise) The battery started failing with ours (needing to be charged every 5 minutes) - ok we had it 2 years but even so. We got a replacement battery which has now started going too.Pros:Well it did the job for us. In all honesty I didn't realise how weak it was until we got another one for our second child. Second time around we paid half the money and got more than twice the product.

We brought a BT baby monitor 100 and would recommend that without a doubt. We bought this monitor over 2 years ago before our son was born.

The VITAL thing with this is to FULLY charge it without unplugging it AT ALL for a good 24 hours or longer when you first buy it. Then the battery life should improve. The battery started playing up after about 12 months use (we HADN'T fully charged properly when we bought it!)and finally gave up completely so we had to buy a new monitor. Considering the price, I didn't expect this to only last 12 months. What we had to do for some time was to take the whole unit with the charging base with us when we moved around the house & actually plug it in, making it not very portable!I did look at other monitors but I was so impressed with the sound quality of this one that I decided to get another. I had also got used to the thermometer on this monitor and found it to be really accurate in our sons room, which can get really very warm at times. The things I don't like about this monitor are:As I've said, if you don't charge the battery properly when you first buy it, it can let you down.Another irritating thing about it is that the night light on it is really bright.

There's no way we could leave it on for our son - and it's quite easy to turn it on by accident so be warned!Should you take the monitor away with you, say on holiday, be careful where you pack it! It can very easily switch itself back on with the slightest knock, and if the parent unit switches on while the baby unit is off, it will beep continuously, until you turn it off!

It's been designed so that if somehow the baby unit is switched off, then the parent is alerted about this, hence the beep. Great in theory but as it's so easy to switch on/off, it can be SUPER annoying when you can hear it beeping in your bag and you can't find it to turn it off! And while it's beeping it's sucking the battery life out of it!All in all, the sound quality is brilliant and I guess this would be the main reason for buying this product. If Tomy could improve the more annoying aspects of the monitor, then this could be a 5.

product. We've been using this baby monitor for 8 months. Its best feature is undoubtedly the fact that it is very tolerant to interference. This is because it is based on DECT (Digital European Cordless Telephony), which has its own dedicated operating frequency band. Only DECT equipment is allowed to operate in this frequency band and the system is designed to avoid interference between co-located DECT units. Many other baby monitors use shared frequency bands, in which many different types of equipment can also legitimately operate.

This is why they can be very susceptible to interference. You will read reviews from very pleased users who were lucky enough not to operate their baby monitor in close proximity to interfering equipment. You will also read reviews from people owning exactly the same baby monitor who have suffered terribly from interference resulting in dramatically reduced range or even complete malfunction. The sound quality is excellent. The range is pretty good - from an upstairs bedroom I found I could go about 50 yards from the house before the link failed. You could probably get 200 yards line of sight (with no wall/barrier) but ultimately you need to be close enough to get back and address any problem so I think the range is fine.

Some older buildings with very thick walls will reduce the range you can achieve significantly. The battery life isn't great, perhaps 4 hours if the parent unit is not in the charging cradle.

Temperature display is useful and it confirms that the link is still good even if there is no sound to hear. The remote controlled light is a pain as you can easily switch it on by accident. We also found that occasionally (perhaps once a month) the parent unit got into a mode where the warning lights illuminated indicating loud noise but there was actually no sound at all at the baby monitor end.

We found that powering down and back on cured this but it shouldn't really happen. So in summary adequate range, great sound quality and immunity to interference but also a couple of minor niggles that mean it gets 4 stars rather than 5. We bought this top of the range monitor 9 months ago and have been very dissapointed.I bought it for its long range capability for when we moved out of our falt to a house. We are yet to move, but its range is not even good enough in a small flat. It often beeps at night, because its lots its connection, waking us up. Not what you want when sleep is precious and the baby wakes you anyway. If one of us goes to see to the baby, there is no mute on the baby monitor for the sleeping spouse not to be disturbed.

If the adult monitor is turned off it beeps loudly, also waking the partner. There is no mechanism, for 'snooze' ie letting the baby cry for a minute or two before you go and see to them. This is available on other more basic monitors.Although you can wear the adult monitor, its recharged battery only lasts 15 minutes, which is not long enough. When it works, the sound is crystal clear. The light on the baby monitor part is useful, as is the temperature reading. But thats all that is good. Not worth it in my view.
