A Love Story: Jack, Zelda and the House on Nob HillPublished on March 08, 2017After retiring as a WW II and Korean War veteran, and legal counsel for NASA (yes, that NASA) J. (Jack) Henry Glazer opened a small law office in San Francisco’s Chinatown. One day, a client sent him to check in on one of his rental properties. That’s when Jack met “the most beautiful woman in the world,” changing his life forever.Jack married Zelda d’Angleterre and together they purchased a carriage house, desperately in need of love and repair, on Taylor Street. So began their incredible love story in the small house atop Nob Hill in which they made their dreams come true.Sadly, Zelda would succumb to glioblastoma multiforme, a fatal brain cancer. Jack had promised that she would die in the house on Nob Hill; and so, he gave up his law practice and took care of Zelda full time until she passed away in 2001.Jack has donated the house to UC San Francisco.
